A Collaborative Effort

The title of this post might be a bit misleading.  It should really be “The cute roommate in the cute apron plans beautiful meal and delegates simple tasks to Jo so she feels like she’s contributing to said beautiful meal.”  But that is a bit wordy for a title.

But really, I do enjoy having a nice meal cooked for me.

Meet our cast:

Holly: Chef, friend, and roomie extraordinaire
Jason: Sous chef and part-time pied piper
Pasty Chef & provider of the bread.
Yours truly, grater of the cheese.

Now, since I can’t exactly give the recipes, enjoy a photo-diary of our kitchen undertakings.  (I will omit photos of Jason’s initial contribution: finishing off and removing the mice that were behind the washing machine, on which I ironically sat to grate cheese.  May they rest in peace).

Flatbreads, shaped like the state of California - home of the fabulous Robertson sisters.
Chicken sauteed with onions, apples and cinnamon sugar.
Red wine, Gruyère cheese and fresh-baked french bread from Whitney's bakery!

And last but not least, the final products!

Field green salad with fresh strawberries, homemade candied pecans and goat cheese; chicken apple mix garnished with garlic-basil cherry tomatoes.
