Impassioned Brewers United Home Brew Pairing Dinner

I can’t believe it’s been nearly three years since Impassioned Brewers United has had a beer pairing dinner, and oh how much has changed!  Among our beer club regulars, we’ve had a marriage, a year spent in Sweden, three new babies on the way, and me… well, I’ve learned to delegate!  Instead of making all the dishes myself and assigning everyone a course to pair a beer with, I made just one of our five courses.  We also had exclusively home brews this time around, a far throw from the Shock Top that made an appearance at our last pairing dinner.  Here’s a sneak peak at our pairings!

Andrea’s Burmese Chicken Soup with Coconut Milk, Turmeric and Sweet Potato Soup paired with Jay’s Ginger Pale Ale.  The soup won best dish of the night, and I think it deserves its own guest post!
Cornmeal Crusted Rockfish, caught by Mike, prepared by Alli, and paired very nicely with a Dry Irish Stout from Will friends at Nostrum Brewing Co.

Czech Roast Pork with Dumplings and Saeurkraut made here in the Messy Kitchen. A hearty soul food, this paired nicely with Alex’s “Beautiful Sorta” Czech Bohemian Pilsner, which one best beer of the night!

Ashley’s “Lahpet Thoke” – Fermented Green Tea Salad with Peanuts, Garlic and Crunchy Beans, paired with Mike’s Fools Gold Grisette Farmhouse Ale

When Emily’s third attempt at Creme Brulee Crème brûlée still didn’t set, she threw it in the ice cream maker! The results were delicious, and along with Courtney’s Citrus Wheat IPA this course won best pairing of the night!
