7 Things that Have Happened Since We Last Talked

Oh, hey!  It’s been a while, hasn’t it?  And you know, I still don’t have a whole lot of time.  So in true BuzzFeed “I don’t have time to produce a quality piece of writing so I’ll make a list” style, here’s “7 Things That Have Happened Since We Last Talked.”  Spoiler alert: most of them involve food.

  1. I set a new half marathon PR of 1:45:55 in the Brooklyn Rock ‘n Roll!

3. I wrapped up the Vivir Sano program, a healthy living and stress management program in partnership with Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing.  I had so much fun cooking and laughing with our participants each Thursday night, and was blown away by their generosity when on the last week of class not one but TWO participants showed up with delicious homemade goodies to share with the group!

Ann's tofu and Triza's empanadas!

4. We had a Cooking Matters potluck at work.  I made the salmon pasta bake, which I have a feeling Courtney will start incorporating into his lunchtime rotation!  unnamed-1

5. I ate what might have been the best cheeseburger of my life, while in St. Paul visiting one of our awesome No Kid Hungry partners.

A "Jucy Lucy" style cheeseburger at Saint Dinette. The Jucy Lucy is a Twin Cities specialty, sparking an intense rivalry between several Minneapolis bars claiming to have invented her.

6. I ate this super legit and extraordinarily overpriced bagel, as one does when in New York.

Fatty Lake Sturgeon, House-Cured Gravlax, Cream Cheese and Tomato on an Everything Bagel.

7. I finally launched my 2nd Annual Friendsgiving Fundraiser!  After having an amazing time hosting last year, I set my goal ridiculously high… so I need your help!  100% of the proceeds go toward ending childhood hunger, and just $10 can connect a child with up to 100 meals!
