To Fathers.

To have a strong, loving and supportive father figure in your life is to be truly fortunate.  I’m not quite sure of the appropriate word for my having three.  The first I was born with.  Along with his genes, he gave me his likeness, his sense of humor (for better, or worse) and I’d like to think a little bit of his wit.  Among a litany, he taught me to always say ‘good game’ and to face the world with an open mind and an open heart.  Our similarities give us a connection with which none others can compete.  The second taught me that genes are not required for commitment and unconditional love and that family is defined by the way you act and feel.  He stepped in when I needed him most and has never stepped out.   The third wasted no time in making me feel like a part of the family.   Always showing immense generosity, he’s given me not just his son but also his love, advice, and support.  For all three, I am grateful.  Today and everyday.
